About Bex
Heh there! I’m Becky (Bex to most), a slightly barmy 34 year old police officer of 11 years, & proud owner of Crazy Daisy, a 1 year old Jack Russell!
Prior to joining the police, I worked with horses in the family-run yard, teaching riders, preparing horses for competitions, & competing myself, in mainly eventing & dressage. The last of our horses died in 06, & I found myself horseless for the first time in my life. It feels as if there is a big something missing now (& don't say 'well that will be half a ton of horse love!'), & I can't imagine it will be too long before I get myself another bottomless moneypit! Mind you, i'm grateful to have had a winter off from getting up at silly o’clock (have to get up for work at 4.30 anyway!), & not to be constantly smelling of wee!
Fortunately, this cycling melarky, has kicked me off the couch (where I had become a contented potato!), & back on the road (pardon the pun) to being able to see my feet again!
I have now become a cycling anorak, & talk of nothing else (I must thank my family, friends & work mates for tolerating my new found obsession!). I'm taking part in 'lejog 07 fundraiser', to support my fwend Kelly, & to put a little back into a cancer charity - my Mum survived against the odds, to beat cancer, & I hope that our hard work can benefit others too.
When the event is over, Kelly & I are going to hang up our wheels for a bit, & head for Egypt (where the only thing we‘ll be riding is a camel!). We went last year, & discovered that the scuba-diving & snorkelling is truly awesome.
Anyway, that’s enough about me…..but before I sign off, I’d like to thank all of those who have supported me financially, emotionally, spiritually & professionally (Gwyneth Paltrow eat your heart out!).
For those of you who are now inspired to undertake such a challenge, some words of advice…………..get padded shorts!

Maybe Bex will meet her soul mate on route!

Bex knew there was a good reason for doing the bike ride after all!
